Construction of a 400MW combined cycle power plant in Ghannouch - Gabes

The purpose of this contract is the execution of civil engineering works for the combined-cycle power plant of GHANNOUCH 1 x 400 MW. The project consists in three tasks:

• Civil Engineering
• Electricity
• Metal frame

The Civil Engineering task consists essentially in :

• Earthworks in backfilling and excavation.
• Works relating to the implementation of the foundations of turbines, tarpaulins, tanks and various buildings.

The project includes:

• Turbo-Alternator Foundations
• Steam turbine foundations
• Gas turbine foundations
• Electric building
• Utilities building
• A feed tank
• A Transformer
• Recovery boiler
• Pumping station
• Tanks
• Roads and infrastructure works

One of the major challenges faced during the project is the respect of HSE rules on site, as a first priority, in order to achieve a high level of mastery of safety and environmental aspects in the construction activities of the power plant, the avoidance of any bodily injury and material damage, and the promotion of the health, safety and well-being of all the staff in the workplace, with a view to achieving the objective of «zero accidents».
